brazos_visit

At the first visit to BrazosBraces, Dr. Taylor will do an examination of your teeth. X-rays and/or photographs may be taken to help Dr. Taylor determine the best course of treatment for you. He will discuss any problems that are apparent and the options you have for correcting these problems. If you are ready to start orthodontic treatment, we may be able to take the remaining diagnostic records, including additional x-rays and molds of your teeth. In many cases, an appointment can be made at this time for the placement of the braces. In more difficult cases, Dr. Taylor will need to study the records before deciding on a treatment plan. This information is usually discussed in a consult either on the telephone or in the office a week or two later.
The examination appointment and any X-rays or photographs taken are at no-charge. A fee is due if you decide to proceed with complete diagnostic records at this time. Additionally, a detailed financial plan will be presented at this time.

Next Step

The appointment when you get braces usually takes from 1-1 1/2 hours. Our normal process is to see each patient at regular intervals from 4-8 weeks apart for an adjustment which takes from 20-40 minutes. The clinician will review instructions with the patient and parent regarding foods not to eat, brushing, and general care for braces. The next appointment will be made at that time.

Please feel free to ask questions any time. Our staff is dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible smile. Let's work together so our goals can be achieved in a pleasant and rewarding manner.
